7/27/2011 · How do I fix the hs _err_ pid ? I know is a Java issue, but Oracle doesn’t seem to have the answers to it’s own products. I have read extensive threads about this issue, but none of the solutions work for me, thus far.
hs_err_pid.log (where is the process id of the process). Where possible the file is created in the working directory of the process. In the event that the file cannot be created in the working directory (insufficient space, permission problem, or other issue) then the file is created in the temporary directory for the operating system.

Joined Feb 10, 2010, Tried to find all hs _err_ pid .log files across the file system, but nothing could be found (even outside the application working directory). i.e.: find / -name hs _err_ pid * I tried to find jvm bugs related to jvm, but I couldn’t find nothing interesting similar to this case.
$ rm ~/ hs _err_ pid *.log You can stop creating them by no longer crashing the JVM. Normally, such crashes are rare. Look at the files themselves in a text editor and they will contain some info about their origins.
